Take a Screen Grab of your iPhone

I discovered an “undocumented feature” of iPhone OS today – I say it’s undocumented, but I what I mean is, I found a feature of my iPhone that I didn’t know existed.

We all know what an iPhone is and we all know what a screen grab is, but did you know you can use one to perform the other? Wow, this is cool, I’m so going to use it to… erm… send screen grabs of how many apps I’ve got?!

Anyway, if you want to do this, simply get the screen to where you want it to be (i.e. scroll past “The Cheeky Girls” in your artists list) and hold the power/lock key then quickly press the home button and you get the familiar “click” noise and the screen whites out.

Head over to Photos -> Camera Roll and there’s your screenie! Awesome. Now you don’t need an app for that!

Short and sweet today. Goodnight

The death of another Playstation 3

I don’t know how I do it. Last night I blew up yet another PS3.

Yesterday I played a little at lunch time, then sporadically throughout the afternoon whilst waiting for work assets to arrive and left it on pause whilst cooking a lovely Spaghetti Bolognese for Soph.

Software Update Day!

Yesterday (Tuesday 1st September, 2009) was an awesome day! Lots of my tech got a software update of some description, major or minor the things I use day-to-day have all been updated to some degree.

  1. OSX -> Snow Leopard (10.6)
  2. PS3 -> (XMB) FW 3.0
  3. Call of Duty 4 -> 1.4 (bug fixes)
  4. iPhone OS 3.0.1 (yeah I know, it’s been out for a while!)

I have also decided to actually host this blog properly rather than self-host it – I still haven’t gotten around to setting up the DNS/Web/Mail servers at my flat and I’m missing out on valuable Google-time by framed-forwarding and only having my blog available during work hours.
