At enotions, we have a team of designers, developers and project managers to get a project from initial concept, through design, programming and front end build and ultimately out to the client – hopefully on time and on budget; this has evolved over the years and is now working rather nicely. On the flip side, any projects I work on for personal enjoyment and edification don’t get the benefit of said team and so personal projects often have to be built with little documentation and in such a way that they "do work, but could do with refinement" – I like to think of it as a form of Agile Programming but without anyone else backing me up or checking up on me (and certainly no Scrum Master to be seen!).
Yesterday (Tuesday 1st September, 2009) was an awesome day! Lots of my tech got a software update of some description, major or minor the things I use day-to-day have all been updated to some degree.
- OSX -> Snow Leopard (10.6)
- PS3 -> (XMB) FW 3.0
- Call of Duty 4 -> 1.4 (bug fixes)
- iPhone OS 3.0.1 (yeah I know, it’s been out for a while!)
I have also decided to actually host this blog properly rather than self-host it – I still haven’t gotten around to setting up the DNS/Web/Mail servers at my flat and I’m missing out on valuable Google-time by framed-forwarding and only having my blog available during work hours.

Did anyone else find the final half-hour of Fallout 3 really disappointing?
One minute I’m battling my way through a bunch of Enclave soldiers to escape Raven Rock, the next I’m shooting Colonel Autumn [how did he survive Dad's martyr attempt inside the purifier but I can't even stand up after pressing the button??] and finally dying inside the purifier….!
Now, with a game like Fallout – with its multitude of side missions, this isn’t really a huge problem… unless the game AUTO-SAVES inside the locked room housing the final showdown. What an arse! If I want to go back and complete the side missions that I wasn’t interested in at the time, I have to roll all the way back to when I was at level 9… considering I finished the game at level 17 this would mean going back to half way through the game and re-doing the main story line again.
Not impressed Bethesda.
